RM2AGHYBE–Ornithology: Breeding and Nests: The Edible-nest Swiftlet (Aerodramus fuciphagus), also known as the White-nest Swiftlet, is a small bird of the swift family which is found in South-east Asia. A colonial nester, its nest, built entirely from threads of their saliva, in high, dark corners on cave walls, is used to make the famous Chinese delicacy, bird's nest soup. They are insectivores and typically leave their cave dwelling during the day to forage and return to their roost at night. Males and females look similar, are monogamous and both partners take part in caring for the nestlings.
