Eidfjord is a small town in Hardanger District, on the west coast of Norway. It is situated at the end of the Eidfjorden, an inner branch of the large Hardangerfjorden, and is a common stopping place for scenic cruises. Beyond the high mountains surrounding the fjord, the narrow, picturesque MŒb¿dalen valley leads upland to the astonishing V¿ringfossen waterfall, one of Norway's more famous scenic sights. This has a total drop of 183m. This view of the falls is from the small hydroelectric dam of the Bjoreia River
