AUBUSSON.../ Alexander accompanied by Hephaestion, both in armor with plumed helmets (L), stand before the family of Darius; family members, with child, kneeling, some prostrate before Alexander under tent; additional tents with guard in background (L) (BRD) picture-frame border with stylized scallop motifs centered with acanthus leaves & superimposed on trellis ground with flower heads The lower guard features, besides the AUBUSSON city mark, additional inscriptions. However, they are faint & hard to decipher. It is probable that a weaver's signature appears on the lower guard.
