A coronal section throuo;h the meridian of a laro-emyoma in the posterior uterine wall of this specimen alsoshowed several rounded areas of yellowish, opaque, homo-geneous sarcoma. These areas contrasted sharply with thewhorled appearance of the myomatous tissue. There wasa metastasis in the broad ligament on the right side. The microscopic appearances are seen in Figure 103, Plate XXVII. The round sarcoma-cells are packed in largealveoli which have formed in the myomatous tissue. Thelatter appears to have undergone no responsive change. Plate XXVII 1 FiGiKK loo. Showing a sarcomatous area endin^ the hyaline tissue of a myoma.
