A Chinese consortium formed by two power generation equipment makers has officially won the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for a coal-fired power plant in Egypt. Dongfang Electric Corp and Shanghai Electric Group signed the EPC contracting deal with the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy Sunday night in Beijing. The two will provide six ultra-supercritical, near-zero polluting coal-fired power generating units with a total generating capacity of 6.6 gW for the Hamrawein power plant.
