FILE PHOTO - The second tower was attacked about forty five minutes after the first. First responders of all types, Police, Fire Dept, medical personel converged on the scene immediately after the first attack and were then caught in the middle when the second jet crashed into WTC. When the second tower collapsed many hundreds of emergency responders perished. The wreckage of the towers was littered with crushed emergency vehicles. Acres around were thickly covered with the crushed remains of the Towers. The thick blanket muffled sound. There was no panic, no pushing, no shoving. To the contrary, passers by and local residents spontaneously went looking for people needing help.
