Fipronil insecticide molecular model. This is a broad-spectrum insecticide of the phenylpyrazole chemical family with the formula C12.H4.Cl2.F6.N4.OS. Fipronil disrupts the insect central nervous system by blocking GABA-gated chloride channels and glutamate-gated chloride (GluCl) channels. Atoms are represented as spheres with colour coding: carbon (black), oxygen (red), nitrogen (dark blue), chlorine (green), fluorine (cyan), sulphur (yellow) and hydrogens (white).
