First woman to play Hamlet since Bernhardt. Performing in London. For the first time since Sarah Bernhardt took the part towards the end of last century, a woman is playing the part of Hamlet. She is Miss Eame Beringer, who is playing the part in the production at the arts Theatre, London. Miss Beringer has appeared in many of Shakespeare's plays and her performances of Romeo was described by one critic as the finest he had ever seen. Photo shows, Miss Esme Beringer. 22 Janary 1938
