RM2A211B5–Tate Modern today unveiled American artist Kara Walker's installation 'Fons Americanus' in the Turbine Hall, the latest Hyundai commission. The 13-metre high fountain is based on the Victoria Fountain in front of Buckinham Palace but includes figures referencing the North Atlantic slave trade, including a noose, a boy swimming amongst sharks, and an Afro-Brazilian goddess at the top.
