Fossilised pterosaur footprint. Fossilised remains of a footprint made by a 'Pterodactylus cerinensis' pterosaur during the Jurassic period (around 200 to 145 million years ago). 'Pterodactylus' were flying reptiles that lived during the Late Jurassic period (150-148 million years ago) and were the first pterosaur genus to be identified. They had elongated jaws with teeth, a long tail and a wingspan of up to 1.5 metres. This footprint measure about 3cm across and was found in the Mas de Pegourdy quarry, Crayssac, Lot, France.
