Georges Danton (Georges Jacques Danton) (1759-1794). French lawyer and politician in the French Revolution, one of the first leaders of the Jacobin Club. In March 1793 Danton participated in the creation of the Revolutionary Tribunal. In April 1793 he joined the Committee of Public Safety.
