Greece is reinforcing the Greek Turkish borders with personnel, cameras, drones, heavy vehicles, FRONTEX officers but also with a 5 meter tall fence. The fence is actually a concrete filled, a construction for at least 40KM, a long coverage in the wetlands of Evros river (Meric in Turkish), Greece's river border with Turkey. EU is supporting the border fortification financially. Asylum seekers, migrants and refugees used Evros as an entrance point to Europe, while in March 2020 a huge wave of thousands of people tried to cross the borders.
