In a press conference at the Orlando International Airport, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson announces the implementation of a NASA-developed flight scheduling technology to all airports across the country in 2023.The Airspace Technology Demonstration 2 (ATD-2) system was transferred to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in September. This technology will allow planes to roll directly to the runway for takeoff to avoid excessive taxi-out time and hold time thereby reducing fuel use, emissions, and passenger delays.
