Investigating combustion of hydrogen. Image 1 of 3. Experiment to demonstrate the highly reactive nature of hydrogen in air. The blue balloon has been filled with hydrogen gas and will be lit with a flame. As hydrogen is highly reactive, the addition of the heat from the flame will trigger a violent reaction with the oxygen in the air, causing a large fireball, see image C002/1060.
