An Antarctic Minke whale lies dead below the bow and harpoon deck of the Yushin Maru, a Japanese whale catcher ship, prior to its transfer to the Japanese whale factory ship Nishin Maru. The whale is one of 440 that the whalers will kill in their annual hunt. all whales are caught under the guise of scientific research, a point that environmental protest Greenpeace disputes.
