Musicians sit in huge floats that are pushed/dragged around town in Kyoto while the musicians play their flute. There are two types of floats in this parade, yama and hoko. There are 23 yama and 10 hoko. The hoko floats can be up to 25 meters tall, weigh up to 12 tons.
