The Coronation rail-tour ran from Kings Cross to Edinburgh on 5th July 2008, with a stop at York to visit the National Railway Museum, where four surviving Class A4 Pacifics lined up together in pouring rain to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Mallard's world speed record. The train returned the following day, again stopping at York en route to King Cross. The Class A4 Pacifics were designed by Sir Nigel Gresley for the London & North Eastern Railway.
