London, UK. 24 April 2018. Plinth detail of a statue of suffragist Millicent Fawcett unveiled in Parliament Square. The bronze casting, created by artist Gillian Wearing, shows a banner reading the text "courage call to courage everywhere", is the first statue of a woman to be erected in Parliament Square and was commissioned as part of this year's centenary of the 1918 Representation of the People Act, giving some women aged over 30 the right to vote.
