Long Beach City Hall is pictured, Aug. 31, 2021, in Long Beach, Mississippi. The 15, 500-square-foot facility, designed by JBHM Architecture and completed in 2010, houses the mayor's office, city administrator's office, water department, municipal court, and other city offices. The community was settled in 1788 and was incorporated in 1905. It was originally an agriculture town and was known for its radishes. Long Beach, located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, was heavily impacted by Hurricane Katrina, which struck shortly after the city’s centennial in 2005. The hurricane destroyed most of the buildings near the shoreline, and business has still not recovered to pre-Katrina levels. (Photo by Carmen K. Sisson/Cloudybright)
