Machine that detects disease exhibited for first time at London mediical conference . A highly sensative machine , the Micro Dynameter Diagnostic Galvanameter , which can detect even the slightest infection or disease in a living body is one of the most interesting exhibits at the sixth international Congress of Physical medicine which has opened at the Wharncliffe Rooms , London . The machine , which is being exhibited for the first time in this country , works on the principle that disease is apparently , a disturbence of electrical ( electro chemical ) equilibrium . Terminals are attached to the patient and a band of light moves along a graduated scale according to the stength of electrical energy conducted from the body . The diagnostic currents registered by the fero dynameter are generated by the patient . It is hoped this machine will be of great value to doctors in making a diagnosis . Photo shows , demonstrating the ' micro dynameter diagnostic Galvanometer to delegates at the Congress in London . 12 May 1936
