The parliamentary party in the Landtag (parliament) of Rhineland-Palatinate of the right-wing AfD party (Alternative for Germany) organised a vigil outside the Rhineland-Palatinate State Chancellery in Mainz for the teenager Susanna F., who was killed by an Asylum seeker. They accused German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Rhineland-Palatinate Minister‐President Malu Dreyer to be responsible for the killing, as they invited the refugees into Germany. They also called for both to resign.
