Mao Zedong and Jian Qing, China 1966. Mao Zedong (1893 – 1976) Chinese communist revolutionary and founding father of the People's Republic of China on the Long March in the caves of Yenan in 1936. Jiang Qing (1914 – 1991), known as Madame Mao, was a Chinese Communist Revolutionary, Chinese actress, and major political figure during the Cultural Revolution (1966–76).
