Mar. 08, 1979 - Birthday of Prof. Otto Hahn At march the 8th of this year it is 100 years that the well known German chemistry and atomic-scientist Prof. Dr. Otto Hahn (picture) was born. Hahn discovered 1904/05 the radio thorium, 1905/06 the radio actinium and 1907 the mesothorium. Together with Lise Meitner, his colleague during a long time, he found in the year 1918 the protactinium and 20 years later - together with Dr. Fritz Strassmann - the nuclear fission of the uranium and thorium.
