Memorial Day services are held at Brookwood American Military Cemetery each year on the Sunday immediately preceding the Monday of the national holiday in the USA. This Cemetery is the only UK resting place of Americans who died in WW1. The Brookwood American Cemetery has its own 4.5 acres in the heart of the Commonwealth War Graves Commissions principal UK cemetery. The US Cemetery was laid out in 1921 by the London Necropolis Company. The Chapel was inaugurated in 1937. Covid restrictions affected the conduct of the service and numbers invited.
