Monument designed by Carlo Marochetti and erected at Kanpur (Cawnpore) at the Site of the Bibighar Well, where British women and children (survivors of the Siege of Cawnpore) were brutally killed. The dried up well was used to dispose of the bodies by Nana Sahib's forces during the Indian Mutiny of 1857, in what became known as the Bibighar massacre.
