April 8, 2022, Munich, Bavaria, Germany: A recently spray painted Z-Symbol as seen in a park near the Schwanthalerhöhe in Munich, Germany. Bavaria has made the display of the symbol a potential crime based on the endorsement of crimes perpetrated by a state including human rights violations with other states either following suit or verifying. The symbol, believed to mean za pobedu (for victory) is one of an assortment of symbols, such as the V or O, sometimes stylized inside of a square as seen in the Battle of Kharkiv, that is most associated with the Russian war in Ukraine and subsequent support by Russians and Putinists around the world. In recent weeks, it has become known as the ''Zwastika''. Various countries have now outlawed the display of the symbol, including the Czech Republic who equates it to the display of a swastika, as well as Latvia who see the displays of ''Z'' and ''V'' as glorification of war crimes.
