Such a life, though full of hardship; is well calculated to rear up menand women able to fight the battle of life successfully. The subject of this sketch was raised in the country, having the advantages andsubject to the usual incidents of life on a new farm, engaged in clearing up and culti-vating it, and going to the log school-house in Winter.
