Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park is a popular tourist destination south west of Alice Springs.The sandstone cliffs lining the deep canyon are over 100m high and the Rim Walk follows the cliff tops in a 6km circuit. The walk is best done in the early morning and can be closed due to high temperatures. The cycad on the right is Macrozamia macdonnellii, the only Macrozamia endemic to the Northern Territory.
