Oxfordshire, England - 30 December 2020; no people in view. I love electricity pylons; I find their abstract, gaunt shapes endlessly fascinating. Even their shadows are interesting, it seems to me. Here we see pylons in a field in Lower Radley at sunrise on a frosty mid - winter morning. The field has been flooded after heavy rain, and the water then froze in the bitter cold. Hence the strange, diffuse shadow on the surface of the temporary lake. Meanwhile an early passenger train rushes past, illuminated by the first rays of the sun. Just beautiful.
