Palestine: Lt Col T. E. Lawrence, Emir Abdullah I and General Edmund Allenby in Jerusalem, 1 January 1921 Abdullah I bin al-Hussein (February 1882 – 20 July 1951), King of Jordan, was the second of three sons of Sherif Hussein bin Ali, Sharif and Emir of Mecca. Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Edward Lawrence, CB, DSO (16 August 1888 - 19 May 1935), known professionally as T. E. Lawrence, was a British Army officer renowned especially for his liaison role during the Arab Revolt against Ottoman Turkish rule.
