China is set to put its Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway into official operation on July 1, the same day when the Communist Party of China celebrates its 90th anniversary. A ceremony marking the debut of the high-speed railroad will be held on Thursday. It took Chinese engineers only 39 months to complete the 1, 318km high-speed railway line which links the capital with its financial centre.
