'President Grant and the Emperor of Brazil officially opened the Centennial Exhibition', c1876, (1938). The Centennial International Exhibition was opened by Ulysses Grant (1822-1885) the 18th President of the United States from 1869-1877 and Dom Pedro II (1825-1891) the second and last ruler of the Empire of Brazil. The Centennial International Exhibition of 1876, the first official World's Fair in the United States, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from the 10th May to 10th November 1876.
