Prestwick Cross, Prestwick , Ayrshire, Scotland. UK. The unusual sundial Shows 4am to 8pm in hours. Hour markers are on stone built pillars with motifs denoting local interests. Large pierced gnomon with elaborate sun, moon, stars & zodiac symbols. The plate is of concre &tiles, making a rough map of the Firth of Clyde, with the Isle of Arran, and some roads on the mainland. The sundial was conceived and designed by 6th year Art students from Prestwick Academy with assistance of members of the Art Department, who worked in collaboration with artist Elspeth Bennie of Balfron.
