Princess Helen of Serbia with her husband Prince John Constantinovich of Russia, c1915. Princess Helen of Serbia (1884-1962) was the daughter of King Peter I of Yugoslavia and Princess Zorka of Montenegro. She married Prince John Constantinovich of Russia (1886-1918), the eldest son of Grand Duke Constantine Constantinovich of Russia, in 1911, after which she was known as Princess Helen Petrovna of Russia. Decorated as a war hero for his service in the army during the First World War, Prince John was murdered by the Bolsheviks after the Russian Revolution. From a private collection.
