Professor Yang Chen-ning (or Yang Zhenning), winner of the 1957 Nobel Prize in Physics and Chairman of Board of Adjudicators of The Shaw Prize, at a press conference for the annoucement of the winners of The Shaw Prize in Hong Kong 12 June 2007. The Shaw Prize, established by The Shaw Prize Foundation based in Hong Kong, is an international award to honour individuals, who have achieved distinguished and significant advances and who have made outstanding contributions in culture and the arts. The Shaw Prize for 2007 consists of three annual awards: the Prize in Astronomy, the Prize in Life Science and Medicine, and the Prize in Mathematical Sciences. Each prize carries an award of US$1 million.
