More information:

Ovenden Moor Wind Farm, at an elevation of 440 metres (1, 440 feet), is a wind-powered electricity generating site, four miles north of Halifax, seven miles west of Bradford and three miles south of Haworth in West Yorkshire. The site, opened by Yorkshire Wind Power Ltd in 1993, originally had 23 turbines, each 51 metres (166 feet) tall and able to supply 5000 homes, stopping 10, 000 tonnes (11, 000 tons) of carbon dioxide and 90 tonnes (99 tons) of sulphur dioxide entering the atmosphere. The original turbines were decommissioned in 2015 and replaced in 2016 by a £12 million scheme of 110 metres (370 feet) tall turbines. The taller, but fourteen fewer, turbines have a generating capacity of 22.5 MWh compared to 9.2 MWh of the original turbines. Sunset view looking west from Ogden, north of Halifax.
