It occured March 5, 1770, and had an impor-tant part in leading up to the Revolution. Long Wharf, in the early days of the town, started from nearthe corner of the present Kilby St. Here the royal governorsmade their fomial landing; here the British soldiers enteredthe town; and from here they made their departure.
