Section of the electrical wiring of a refrigerator that has been attacked by a rodent animal. Though it could be either a rat or mouse, evidence suggests that in this case the cable had been gnawed by a grey squirrel. When rodents have access to electrical wiring that is exposed and not enclosed in hard plastic or metal casing their chewing can cause electrical fires and electrical outages. It is recommended that occasionally the wiring should be checked by a professional electrician to make sure its in good shape.
