Ruins of Battery Mower, a US coastal artillary battery built to defend the Atlantic entrance to the Panama Canal. Built between 1912-1916 and housed a 14-inch rifled cannon. Named for Major Gen. Joseph A. Mower, who served with the 25th Infantry in the Civil War. Fort Sherman, Panama.
