Old Diriyah, Kingdom of Saudi ArabiaMore information:
Diriyah is the traditional home of the House of Saud, and served as the capital for early Saudi states. Before the Egyptian attack on the city in 1818 it was the capital of the First Saudi State that dominated the whole peninsula. It was destroyed by the Turks in 1818. Portions of the city, made of mud bricks, still exists.
