Seihan Mori, the chief Buddhist priest of Kiyomizu-dera Temple shows his calligraphy of a kanji, Chinese character, "Kita" meaning "north", in Kyoto, Japan on Dec.12, 2017. The annual single best kanji was chosen to symbolize the year.
