It was damaged by the Azerbaijan military during the early 1990s during the struggle for independence of Artsakh and restored 1998. It was targeted and bombed twice on October 8, 2020, by the Azerbaijan Military again in violation of international law during it's bombardment and attack that started on September 27, 2020.
