Sir Geoffrey Northcote with his wife for the Colonial office. The newly appointed governor of Hong Kong, went to the Colonial office in London before leaving England by air to take up his post. The governorship of Hong Kong carries a salary of £7000 including 2200 entertainment allowance. The new governor will find himself with two residents one government house has been ravaged by white and but is being made habitable the other is mountain lodge. 29 September 1937.
