More information:

In the Mission Ridge ski area, the wing fragment from a B-24 Liberator heavy bomber that crashed during a training mission in 1944 is mounted just above the 6400 foot level, off the Katsuk run before it drops into Bomber Bowl. Placed as a tribute to the lives lost in the crash, it has become a good luck piece which, when rubbed by skiers, brings good luck for soft snow.
