Staring at its reflection. Alaska, USA: THESE INCREDIBLE images show a bear seemingly walking on water. One image shows a brown bear walking across the water, playing with its reflections. Brown bears, known as grizzly bears, have a smell that is 400 times stronger than humans, smelling their prey and other bears from 20 miles away. These images were taken by animal behaviourist, conservationist and photographer Torie Hilley (21) at Lake Clark National Park and Preserve in Alaska using a Canon R5 camera. ?It was the last morning in Lake Clark, Alaska, and we slowly trudged through the sticky mud to take photos of the bears clamming on the mudflats, ? said Torie. ?We were tired and, honestly, a little bored of the cloudy skies we had for most of the week. ?But then, the sky opened just a bit and these pinks and blues started to light up the scene. ?We frantically clicked away and followed the bears to capture different angles. We only had a few minutes to capture the colours, and then it was gone. ?The simplicity and colours of these shots are really unique. ?It?s an incredible feeling but very humbling as well. For a wild animal to feel comfortable and relaxed enough to be that close to you is quite remarkable. ?This was my first time with bears and on the first day I was about five feet from one. ?I have a soft spot for predators, especially apex predators, and want to show the beauty of them through photography.? mediadrumimages/TorieHilley
