This day wants to strengthen the rights of girls. It is intended to show that boys and girls still do not have the same chances and that girls are disadvantaged, discriminated and abused worldwide. Europa, Deutschland, Koeln, das Kinderhilfswerk Plan International macht anlaesslich des Internationalen Welt-Maedchentages (11.Oktober) mit einer Ballonaktion vor dem Dom auf die Rechte von Maedchen aufmerksam. Der Welt-Maedchentag will die Rechte von Maedchen staerken. Er soll zeigen, dass Jungen und Maedchen noch immer nicht die gleichen Chancen haben und Maedchen weltweit benachteiligt, diskriminiert und missbraucht werden.
