Arusha National Park in north eastern Tanzania contains Mount Meru, the second highest mountain in Africa (4566 m) with some good views of Mount Kilimanjaro, and a variety of plains, lake and grassland habitats. The main mammalian species are giraffe, waterbuck, Cape buffalo, zebra, warthogs and black and white colobus monkeys. Flamingos can be seen in the alkaline Momella lakes.
