London, UK. 8th November, 2017. The Queen leaves after reopening the Sir Joseph E. Hotung Gallery of Oriental Antiquities at the British Museum on the 25th anniversary of the original opening. The new display brings the narrative for China and South Asia up to the present day and includes objects, such as paintings and textiles, requiring regulated conditions for display. It was financed by a generous donation from the Sir Joseph Hotung Charitable Settlement; Sir Joseph Hotung is a long-term benefactor of the British Museum.
