December 16, 2017 - Munich, Bavaria, Germany - (Photo: Sachelle Babbar) Under heavy police presence, approximately 75 protestors from the Palästinensische Gemeinde München (Palestinian Community of Munich) demonstrated against the so-called “Jerusalem Move” order signed by US President Donald Trump. Under the banner of “Jerusalem is Palestine” the group assembled at Munich’s famed Max-Joseph-Platz directly in front of the Bavarian National Theatre. Speaker Linda Benedikt called the Trump resolution “a provocation against the Palestinian people”. A similar demonstration the weekend prior ended early due to the group inciting itself towards a potential riot. .Munich has had a charged political history with Palestinian politics in the wake of the 1972 Olympics wheen Palestinian terrorists assassinated 11 Israeli athletes and one police officer. Material assistance was provided by German neo-nazis and negligent German officials, who did not heed security warnings. The latter resulted in an alleged cover-up by the German government, as reported by der Spiegel in 2012. (Credit Image: © Sachelle Babbar via ZUMA Wire)
