The first stop on the journey was Eidsvoll where Norway in 1814 - after the peace of Kiel when Denmark had to make Norway over to Sweden - declared herself to be an independent, unsaleable and indivisible kingdom and where at the same time the Foundation Act was undersigned by officers, farmers, officials delegated from the countries.
